I gotta say, Blake Griffin has skyrocketed the Clippers to the top of my list of "appointment tv" (right behind, of course, the Blazers.)

I would catch the odd game just to see Chris Paul, but man was Griffin impressive over these last two games. I'd typecasted him as an overrated dunker, and he's become so much more than that. (To his credit, Aldridge did a really nice job on defending him in post ups. Aldridge is a highly underrated post defender.)

The hops, the court vision, he even has an ok handle for his size. And he even hit an Aldridge-like 18 footer. His defense isn't hot, but it's improving.

I'm always up for seeing LeBron, and Kyrie Irving is right there too (I just wish I didn't have to watch the Cavs). But Griffin has really made a fan out of me.

Looking over his game log, it seems like it's a very recent change (Chris Paul being out?) So I guess he could come back down to earth. And in those games he's putting up monster stats the Clips are actually 1-5. Still though....

Who are the top players you just enjoy watching?

I can't stand Blake Griffin. I really hope bad things happen to him.

Lebron James is fun to watch cause he is so ridiculously good and doesn't cry too much

Overall I thin the NBA is unwatchable though, and probably wouldn't follow it if Portland didn't have a team

I don't know anything bad about Kyrie Irving. In the game against the blazers, he didn't hog the ball. When the team needed a basket, he just gave them one, no nonsense. After the game he stuck around and shook hands with the Blazers. Awesomely talented and appears to be a class act.

    Curry, good one

I also like great passing bigs, so the Gasol bros are enjoyable when they are on

Absolutely. Just 22 years old. Same age as Lillard with essentially the same PER. Gets better and better every year. Is a bitch on defense. Ask Kobe about that.

hate Blake Griffin. Probably in my top 5 players I want to watch the least. Can't stand him. Think I'd quit watching if he ended up on our team somehow.

I really like Curry now. It looks like his defense has stepped up big time this season. That was one of his major issues that he has solved.

Kevin Durant... I hate OKC, but I love Durant. He has swag but not arrogance like Westbrook. Durant knows he's the shit, but humble. That's a great personality.

Kyrie Irving, Andre Miller, Jarrett Jack, Kevin Durant, Patty Mills, and (I know, I know) Travis Outlaw. Only two of those because they're exceptional players; the others I never stopped rooting for when they left Portland.

As someone who used to be a pity Clippers Fan (in the early '90s) I have to agree that Griffin is one of the players I wish active harm to. He ignites in me hate as white hot as a thousand suns.
These threads crop up on a fairly regular basis and we should distinguish between "respect their game" and "feel genuine affection for". Although I do find it hard to respect the game of players I hate, I admit.
Or perhaps "will check the boxscore of"/"like to watch". For that category, I have Rajon Rondo, Ricky Rubio and (breaking the alliteration) Kyrie Irving (who is turning into a superstar as we watch, so long as he stays healthy). I also like players with great post moves, so I've a soft spot for Luis Scola. And Andre Miller, of course.

Curry is a lot of fun to watch just because his shot always looks good, no matter how far away he is, off the dribble, off a screen, whatever. He is in the process of becoming an all-time great shooter, and it's just a lot of fun watching somebody at the very pinnacle of elite in a skill do what he does best.

45% shooting on over 7 attempts/game over 41 games at 38 mpg. If he finishes out the season at this rate, it's got to easily be the best display of three point shooting in the history of the NBA.

    Ankles, don't fail him.
