I thought the game said it was the Clippers who were close?

Anyone else think that his agent is floating these rumors in desperation?

Putting pressure on Portland to make a deal with them? Fuckers. If that's the case then I don't want what they've got. Screw um

Grizzlies should have cap space this summer, so it would just be a good strategic move. They suck, so they can afford to fart around playing Miles for a few minutes a night.

Nice. Now we'll see what KP does with Raef's contract.

wait.....this is the same team that gave away Gasol for nothing? I highly doubt they could pull off something this sneaky. :D

You're daily updates telling us about the play of Conley suggest otherwise.

It gets annoying when people say we got nothing for that trade. Pau had a big contract, we got rid of that with that trade. We got a big expiring, a young prospect that has turn into a damn good player (Marc), and got a first rounder and got a big steal from it. I'm not saying that would of been the most any team would of given us, but it isn't as bad as people make it sound.

Also, the Conley trade rumors have seemed to died down over here, I don't know whether or not it has in Portland, but it has here. I don't think Chris Wallace wants to trade him yet. The last few games he has really been showing us what we expected from him all along.

    How about this?

Bulls Trade: Kirk Hinrich, Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas

Blazers Trade: Joel Pryzbrilla and Raef Lafrentz.

The reason I don't see Joel going anywhere until the draft is this:

If Oden goes out of the game (rest, fouls, injury, whatever) we're in the exact same position we were last year when Joel wasn't in...abused on interior defense and rebounding. It's one thing if Oden can go 40 minutes and we have a defensive project big, but I don't think we're there yet.

What the fuck is Chris Wallace doing over there? He gets rid of Pau for chicken shit, and wants to sign Darius Miles??? The guy is in the Kevin McHale Hall of Fame of ridiculously stupid GMs of all-time.

I would be all over that trade. We could waive Hinrich and Deng and start Travis Outlaw and Tyrus and we would be set.

You don't play htat game. Oden is your future, and the mindset should be Oden or bust.

Bulls made this mistake with Hinrich this summer. We could have Al Harrington, or some other guy with an expiring contract (maybe even Raef's contract), but Paxson wanted to keep Hinrich in case Rose wasn't ready for primetime and as Gordon insurance. It was clear early on that Hinrich had no longterm position on this team, and now the expiring contracts available have dwindled.

Did you guys ever stop to think that maybe they just want Darius' work ethic and veteran leadership on their team? :)

Ugh, won't make such a bad week any better if Darius gets signed.

While I agree with the first part, and think that Oden's starting every game he's healthy for the next 12 years or so, I think there's a difference b/w Rose and Oden's situations on their teams. For instance, if Rose went down and Hinrich was traded, you'd still have plenty of "serviceable" guards that could play the 1. If Oden went down (much like when Joel did last year) for injury, or foul trouble, or rest, or ineffectivenes....we're staring at Channing Frye and LMA as our 4/5 combo. Not beefy, not really interested for the most part in D...bad juju.
