We are "brining" the turkey tonight. Never done it before, but it looks delicious!

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    You too my man.

Great game tonight. Turkey, sweet potatoes and pecan pie tomorrow. And then back to the Rose Garden on Friday for the New Orleans Hornets. A win on Friday may just make this the most perfect weekend in the history of Earth.

    BNM

P.S. Evidently, there is supposed to be some sort of football game on Saturday. I heard some of the kids talking about it at the game tonight. Sounds like that might be fun, too. Maybe I'll check it out.

Brining turkey is great. Be sure you use kosher salt and not table salt. Don't salt the bird! Better to make dressing instead of stuffing as drippings can be a tad salty. fine to use the drippings in gravy but almost surelyh won't need to salt the gravy, or salt very lightly.

Add some fresh herbs and garlic to the brine as well.

    I went to Rheinlander.

Smoked Pork Chop, Mashed Taters, Sweet Potatoes, Cranberries, and 7 layer choclate cake. And leftovers from all of the above.

My wife had already done pretty much as you recommend.

It was seriously the best turkey I have ever eaten in my life. It's all about the brine for me from now on.
