Go to 15:31 of the Marcus Smart video below:

The 1st ref calls it what it obviously is: Blocking foul.

The 2nd ref is what's called "straightlined" (sees asses and elbows) and somehow sees him getting fouled there. He's an idiot. Move your old ass into position.

The 3rd ref calls the obvious illegal use of hands and ignores him (you always know when a player is on the ground) while he flops like a fish on the end line.

The 4th ref (and this is my favorite) Calls the obvious offensive foul on a flopping not so smart Marcus who is completely out of control.

If the NBA called flops this way the would lessen astronomically. I would LOVE to see a guy get T'd up for faking being fouled. If that shit happened we wouldn't be blaming players for referee mistakes and guys would be getting penalized for flopping instead of being rewarded.

I would like to see coaches get 3 flop challenges per game. On replay, if the refs agree it was a flop, the player is assessed a personal and 2 shot technical foul. The other team gets the 2 technical feee throws, 2 shots for the personal fouln
(if in the bonus) and the ball out of bounds.

    That ends all flopping.

From a referee's perspective, IMO this would simply slow down the game. It's actually VERY easy to determine what is and what is not a flop. Referees need to maintain what's called an "Open Look" That's what Ref #50 has here looking through the play at Brandon Bass and Thadeus Young:

He's probably going to leave the shooter and watch the ball go through the hoop. He will miss what's going to be the result of play because he won't "stay with the shooter". So while he has solid positioning by being able to see the play 9/10 times the referee will watch the ball. This has resulted in at least 3 Harden flop calls against the Blazers alone. These referees need to do their damn jobs. Dick Bavetta's old ass (desperately needs to retire) called the flop where Harden had to pay his $5K fine.

Maybe it is the water in OK. Watching Durant every game he probably thinks he can get away with it too.
