What's interesting is that both Fernandez and Bayless got a vote each for ROY. Greg Oden has had a few votes for ROY.

Other than GP, I don't see any of those picks being that far-fetched from the beginning of the year. It just looks really silly now. It'd be fun to do one here for next season and see who looks like idiots.

If you told these experts at the time that this team would earn the 4th seed in the West after all those brutal years, you'd probably see even more votes. The Oden votes look funny in retrospect, but I though he was a decent candidate too. I, like many others, just underestimated what a year off and microfracture surgery can do to a guy.

To be far to Payton, these were made before the Iverson trade. I bet once that happened he wished he could take it back. And the Hornets pick was bad tho.
All of these picks were made before the season even started so it wasn't that farfetched to assume Bayless would be playing on our team, considering who our other PGs are.
