Seeing as his Memphis team is now a perennial NCAA tourney team does anyone think he was let go too early when he coached the Nets? Is it good coaching or just a case of being able to recruit that has brought him his success in college ball? His Nets team that went up against Jordan's Bulls was thought to be a couple of steps away from becoming a top NBA team. The only mistake he made was asking management to trade for Marbury.
Could just be a case of some guys being better suited to college than pros. Although he didn't get too long of a chance at the pro level.

Calapari was a good NBA coach, however he success at the Pro level would never have reached the heights that he's reached as a college coach...was he given a fair chance? No. Is he better off as a college coach? Yes.

I think what might have really killed him was the lockout. He didn't stick around too long after the team traded for Marbury anyway.
im not sure... if he had the opportunity to show what he coulda really done... but heh more power to him in memphis... hes doing a great job
