If this is true, and Houston traded away Landry, then they are idiots.

I wouldn't trade Landry for Kevin Martin straight up. Landry has been a beast for them, he's a warrior. I understand they have Scola as well, but still, I would've done anything in my power to keep Landry.

Martin is a one dimensional player who can never stay healthy.

Stupid trade for the Rockets IMO, if this is true.

Can't believe they included Landry in that deal.

could be expanded to a 3-team with the Knicks still but that is a backup

If they give up Landry pretty much for Kevin Martin, they'll just become more of a jump-shooting team than they already are. Dumb-ass move.

don't like dealing landry, but it's still a very good deal for the rockets. martin gives them a number one option for the rest of this year and an awesome 2nd option next year when yao returns. as good as landry has been, he's neither of those things.

Good luck getting both Yao and Martin healthy.

Martin is injury prone, although not to the same extent, as T-Mac is. I'm upset that Houston gave away Landry, he's been one of the more consistent assets for that team, and now he is no longer there.

I think SacTown wins out on this one. Big time.

Word. This deal just doesn't make a whole lot of sense for Houston IMO. Who's going to the bench among K-Mart, Battier, and Ariza? Ariza seems like the type to bitch and moan if he were benched after signing that contract though neither of the other two make sense. Its quite debatable as to whether they're better off with K-Mart or Landry in the short term. Perhaps they thought of when Yao gets back and having a good sidekick for him. But K-Mart does not = winning basketball IMO. He can score but he provides very little in the way of any other basketball skills. Not a creator for others, doesn't play defense, doesn't rebound. I don't even like his scoring game very much because most of his game is drawing ticky tack fouls. Works well in the regular season but the playoffs become a much more physical game and unless you're name is Kobe, LeBron, or Wade you're not going to get all those calls.

I think they could have gotten more for Landry. Plus T-Mac was a pretty valuable asset. I don't know why the felt such a need to trade T-Mac to be honest. Its nice to cash in on an expiring contract but shit Landry is REALLY good. I would think that other teams would be jumping at the opportunity to land him.

There are rumors that this could end up being a 3 team deal with McGrady going to the Knicks...or there was, not sure if there's merit to that anymore or if this is official.

that's really easy. battier will come off the bench and not have a problem with it.

And the Knicks did get involved, as expected. They land TMac, it's on the front page of Yahoo's NBA page if you really need a source.

The Knicks best hope they can land 2 big name FAs, or this is all going to be such a waste of time for them.

Don't think it is a waste for them, they were going no where with what they had anyways. Basically they're cleaning house, and you best believe they'll at least land one big name FA, they are in NY.

great deal for the rockets got even better. kevin martin, jordan hill, the option to swap picks with the knicks next year, and the knicks 2012 pick for carl landry.

Yeah the Rockets made out like bandits after the Knicks got involved. Jeffries contract will be a nice asset in a few years too.

Donnie Walsh did what he was hired to do and cleaned house.

I don't think one is enough. I think they HAVE to get two. Whether it's LeBron, Wade, Bosh, Amar'e, Boozer, Dirk...they need to get two of them. One superstar can't lead a team to a title, LeBron has proven that the past couple years, Kobe is proof of that as well. They have to get a pair for this to be successful, unless they plan on being terrible again this year and getting a big name in 2011 (which I have no idea who'll be an FA at that time).
