Lauren Holiday is a member of the U.S. Women's National Soccer team. Her husband is J'Rue Holiday, who plays for the Pelicans. Lauren is pregnant and needs brain surgery - to put it mildly, not a good combination. Wishing her well. Inc
...sounds like she could use some cannabis oil to kill her brain tumor, much less risky than surgery. Cheers to hoping for the best!
Of course Jrue Holiday is putting aside everything to be with her. Hope the Pelicans support him in this.
Liked, unliked, liked again, unliked again... just so I could like it a third time! Cannabis coconut oil and/or Rick Simpson oil, FTW... ! This stuff saves lives and I bet crandc could make some DELICIOUS treats with it, to boot!
Yeah. I read about it. She retired from international football to raise a family. Prayers go out to Lauren and JRue. I'm pulling for them.
Please. None of you are doctors and you are certainly not Ms. Holiday's doctor. You don't even know her ailment. So to claim she should avoid medical care and just take marijuana and coconut oil is so out there it would have to go a lot of miles just to be absurd. I am reminded of those who tell people with AIDS don't take evil drugs from evil doctors, take Vitamin C and drink your urine and that will cure you (although I admit marijuana is more appealing than drinking one's own piss). She and her medical team will decide her treatment. Coconut oil is an effective treatment for dry skin. I would not suggest it for a brain ailment.
Coconut oil in her diet all along may have inhibited cancer growth. At this point, it's probably of no help. This is a very sad situation. Treat the mother and the baby gets the treatment, too. Not a good combination.
Jrue Holiday to miss start of season as pregnant wife Lauren Holiday faces brain surgery http://www.nola.com/pelicans/index.ssf/2016/09/jrue_holiday_asks_for_prayers.html
That's good news! Glad to hear it. But, how the heck is Jrue Holiday only 26 (and will be for the entire 2016-17 NBA season). It seems like he's been around (and injured) forever. BNM
Jrue Holiday has his priorities straight...I hope his wife has successful surgery and a complete recovery....I would be crushed if something like that happened to my wife.
It always confuses me when people mention priorities when it comes to the work/family situation. ESPN ran this fluff piece on LeBron and how he puts his family "first" above all else...... saying that basketball would never come before his family. I call bullshit! I could too if I'd already made 200 MILLION dollars. If it weren't for basketball how would he take care of that family? I would actually have to work and travel TWICE as much as I do now if my wife got brain cancer! I'd have crazy bills to pay and they wouldn't get paid sitting by her side. I believe paying bills is the priority in that horrible situation. He's no better than anybody else because he's choosing to NOT go to work and still get paid. There is a poster on here, the guy from Bend who's been on here for years. He called me out on here once questioning me as a father, asking how I could be away from my family so much. One of only 2 or 3 times I've really got angry on this forum. I lit into him about that. When you don't have to worry about money, sure does change priorities and how you look at things.
You're probably home a lot more than most military dads or entertainers...Skype has changed the world of being on the road...my wife and son went overseas for 6 weeks last winter and we talked on Skype everyday...which to me is awesome. Guys around here told me your wife is in good hands when you're on the road so no worries bro!
Excuse the fuck out of me, but you could leave the snarky attitude at the door and maybe do a little reading (read: A FUCKING LOT) and actual research before you belittle somebody else's standpoint. Something tells me you know absolutely NOTHING about cannabis coconut oil OR Rick Simpson Oil. Thanks!
Well, GoBlazerGo, you accuse me of snark? HCP, of course you are correct - most of us sadly could not take weeks or months off, even with Family and Medical Leave Act.
A valid point. I was already wondering...is the team paying him? If so, the owner deserves this praise, not J'Rue, for sacrificing multi-million dollars. Even if the owner isn't paying in money, by allowing the special vacation, he's sacrificing team order to chaos for multi-months.
