On the radio before the game, they were already apologizing for a slow start and for not even winning it all this year, that making it to the Finals would be fine. It took the Heat two years, etc. But Nash is 38! He needs to win now.

These guys are gonna be fun to watch crumble. We'll win tomorrow. Lillard will destroy Nash. What a nice and easy player to make your NBA debut against: a 38 year old terrible defender who is not being used correctly by his coach!

    Go Blazers!!

I thought this was a pretty insightful post:

It's a pretty valid point. Nash is the only starter who is a scary three point shooter. Kobe can hit a clutch three here or there, but it's not his livelihood. In the past three years he's been hitting them at 32%.

So Nash is basically playing the Derek Fisher role, but without Fisher's at least adequate defense.

Still, though, the Lakers just have so much size. They are going to out-rebound everybody. If they can build on the idea that Gasol runs the offense in the half court, focused primarily on getting Howard or Kobe the ball at the end of the play, it's going to still be a scary team.

It was kind of weird to see the boxscore from the first game and Blake with more assists than Nash.

Keep in mind, too, that Nash went 1-4 from three tonight. None of the shots he missed were all that hard for him. If they all go in there's no meltdown.

Still, though, there's quite a stunning contrast between the two teams who were "supposed" to win tonight (Heat and Lakers). The Heat blow out their biggest potential EC rival on the night of the ring ceremony (always a tough out for the champion). The Lakers lose at home to a Mavs team playing without Kamen and Dirk. Pretty remarkable.

On the radio in Portland today (1080 fan), the Lakers radio analyst claimed three Blazers would start for LA if they were on the Team; Lillard; Batum; LMA; now he did admit to having a man crush on Lillard. Claimed Dame was the next D.Will and was shocked he slipped to us.

Also said the Clippers royally fucked up by letting Oshley go and went on to say Neil had a masterful draft. Now maybe he was just being nice, but it was great to hear that from a man of the purple and piss.

    Go Blazers

Great point. If Nash shoots 100% from the three point line, they should compete.

I love it. So excited for tomorrow.

I believe in the S2 community's ability to grasp sarcasm.

But for the record: I hate the fucking Lakers.
