The Seahawks just signed Charlie Whitehurst to a 2 years $10 mil. deal to essentially be an emergency quarterback. A guy who has 0 regular season snaps in 5 years in the NFL. This despite having 2 draft picks in the top 15, which they could potentially use on a QB.

What the people he trusts with his money do with it is hilarious to me. Watch Pete Carroll and his $33 mil. contract to come back and bite him in the ass as well.

Hi Tom Penn, are you looking for work? I have some shrubs that need trimming.

Yea that signing is confusing especially considering Derek Anderson, who has started and actually played, is getting paid LESS. :dunno:

Looks to me like Anderson could and probably will be paid more than Whitehurst.

Also... Arizona's first choice was Whitehurst. But he told his agent he'd rather play for Seattle so Arizona's back up plan was Anderson. There must be some reason why 2 teams prefered Whitehurst over Anderson. They must see some potential.

Probably because by NOT throwing a pass, he has made himself better than Anderson. Anderson's had about 4 good games that made his one decent season look good. Outside of those, he's not that good at all. Still has plenty of time to grow into a quality QB, however. Still, Anderson is guaranteed 3.25, wonder what the guarantees are in Charlie's deal. Could always just take a one year flyer in an uncapped season, and send him packing in the offseason. Not sure about drafting a QB where they are at, though. Should have grabbed Sanchez last season. I don't think Clausen is worth their pick at 6. And after that, they can wait until round 2 or later to find someone to groom.

Well the biggest difference I can see is that the Seahawks are a money making enterprise instead of a money losing enterprise (like the Blazers), so it's probably easier to justify using football related income to pay for player salaries, rather than having to subsidize those salaries, like PA partially does with his basketball team.
