Wow. That changes a lot. I wonder if this is from when Beverley and him knocked knees last game. They should be able to beat Houston even without him. Not sure about the 2nd round series though.

Yep. Without Russell holding him back, Durant will shine. Too bad they don't still have Harden; they could have lucked into the right combo by accident.

Westbrook gets injured, Lillard logs more minutes than any player in the league.

    Regression to the mean, motherfucker.

    That's regression to the "knee".

I bet they regret trading Maynor and Harden now...

This could make OKC better but I'm one who doubts that. Westbrook did a lot for that offense and he may have taken shots from Durant but without Westbrook who is going to help take the scoring load off of Durant? They don't really have another great scorer except for Martin. Durants going to have to take 30+ shots a game now and teams can really double/tripple him without as much fear of another player lighting them up.

Even though I dislike the dude, his tenacity and energy can't be denied. He brought it every night.
His speed and D can't be replaced. They will lose some of their swagger with Westbrook out.

0 games missed in his career until now. Huge blow.

Finally seeing OKC get off their honeymoon period and facing some setbacks this year. First having to give away Harden for financial reasons, and now this.

All players get injured, it just happens but I am beginning to wonder if those more explosive and athletics players like Rose and Westbrook just seem to be in more situations that risk these injuries. Just a thought. It also makes me wonder if the knock that Lillard isnt explosive like those other two might actually be a good thing ...

I usually don't laugh at injuries, not even at Kobe's. But Rus is just SUCH an insufferable douche. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Exactly. My hope is that Lillard, who already plays a lot like a 29-year old vet, plays that way his entire career; judicious dunking and explosiveness, not relying on it.

I long ago said that OKC should trade Westbrook out of the big four, because I felt he too often froze out Durant in critical moments and had too big of an ego for the absolute best in team chemistry.

However, that doesn't mean Westbrook is a net negative. He is still a fantastic player, and as you say, brings an energy, speed with the ball and attitude that cannot be replaced.

This injury changes everything in the NBA playoffs this year.

Now, Miami has a much easier fast track to a back-to-back. OKC was their biggest obstacle.

All the other opponents are not as talented 1 thru 8, lacking a SuperStar, suffering key injuries, or some combination.
