For people who bitch about our team, I present you the Sacramento Kings. A record 15 straight seasons without making the playoffs. The last time they made the playoffs, Bonzi Wells was on their team. They have drafted... Evans over Steph Curry Biyombo over Klay Thompson Robinson over Lillard Bagley over Doncic That’s just a few of their bad mistakes. Now they have hit lately with Fox and Halliburton, but even then, they can’t play .500 ball or get into expanded play-in. They are a total disaster.
I agree that the Kings are a great example of how things could be worse. I also agree with the people who are about to respond saying the Kings shouldn't be the measuring stick.
Don't forget about drafting Ben Mclemore over CJ in 2013 despite promising to draft CJ in that draft.
I am not really sure if comparing yourself to homeless junkies is the best idea to follow if you want to have nice house.
I'm also glad I don't have to sniff the skid marks on Donald Trump's underwear. So many things in life to be grateful for.
Suns have missed it 11 straight years. Wolves have been in disarray for decades. That will now change under ARODS ownership.
They even had Boogie and pretty much pissed that away. I agree that this is not a great measuring stick. If you want to be great you look at what the greatest do and quit making excuses as to why you cannot do it.
I doubt the Blazers would still be in Portland in 10 years (let alone 15) if they went through that type of futility.
agree 100%. This site sure wouldn't have started. The sites exist/participation because of the consistent success the Blazer Organization has had over the years. The NBA is FANTASTIC, when you win!
when has Portland ever gone thru that type of extended futility? They won the championship in their 7th season. They were in the playoffs for 8 of the next 9 seasons until the Drexler teams got rolling and went to the finals twice. After that team aged out, Portland went to the playoffs for 6 straight years until the Whitsitt teams went back to back to the WC finals twice, followed by 3 more trips to the playoffs. From the season Blazers won it all till the end of last season, Portland was in the playoffs 36 times and in the lottery 8 times. About to make it 37 times over the last 45 years. Portland worst stretch was 5 straight years in the lottery earlier this century. But only 3 of those seasons had losing records. And the Blazers got Roy, Aldridge, and Oden out of it; just got derailed by injuries this is why it's so ridiculous to apply the 'it could be worse' logic when the discussion is firing Olshey or Stotts, or both. 51 years and it's has never been as bad as the Kings, but firing one of those guys would do it. Loopy shit. Yeah, I guess it could be worse, but for damn sure it could be better
Exactly, that is why they are still in Portland. Trying a COMPLETE rebuild though could turn out to be disastrous. We are not the type of city that could be helped out with free agency as the Lakers were.
Portland has never rebuilt thru free agency. The draft and trades and firing Stotts and/or Olshey commits Portland to a rebuild?
Yep. Let's be a bigger market with more minorities and a better night life. While we're at it let's improve the weather! This is going to be so great!
Can you imagine being an 18 year old, an ADULT, in Sacramento who has no memory of his Kings in the playoffs. That is crazy.
