I wanted to post this here because the MLB forum gets absolutely no love. This article is incredible. The trials that have been presented to the Angels this year is amazing. This season feels so much like 2002, but with tragedy involved. The story of Jon Wilhite is absolutely incredible. The fact that he survived an injury that 95% of the people who suffer it die from, is just mind blowing. I also had no idea he lives in my city. I just wanted you guys to read the article, I thought it was a great piece on how tragedy can bring a team together and wanted you guys to read the story about Wilhite's incredible journey through rehabilitation.
When teams face tragedy, they either come together and feed off each other's energy, or they crumble. This sort of reminds me of Bynum's injury last year (in real life, the situations are nowhere near comparable). The Lakers fed off and rallied behind each other and won in Boston and Cleveland. The Angels seem to have rallied behind the Adenhart tragedy to become one of the hottest teams in baseball. Regardless, whatever happened to Adenhart, and the others involved in the crash was tragic. I hope their families are starting to cope better. Whilhite's story is truly incredible. He's a fighter for pulling through.
