I like that idea! Trade Hickson for him! We can throw Leonard and Freeland and Jefferies under the bus until Varejao is healthy.

I'd rather not have Varejao anyway. Hickson > Varejao, and he's bigger, stronger, faster...

Sad. He was having such a great season. Does this open the door for Hickson to win the rebounding title?

neither did their respective pre-draft to give us legit measurements, but Hickson is listed 2" shorter and 18 lbs lighter. In his favor is that at 24 he's 6 years younger and hasn't consistently broken down the last few years. Given health though, I think AV would be a much better fit beside LA... he's under contract for 2 more seasons after this

"given health" is the key phrase, what is given apparently is that he gets hurt almost every year and misses a LOT of the season

while I'm aware that he's been hurt the past few years, I don't recall the nature of the injuries... some are obviously more concerning then others as far as affecting a players long term ability to play. This latest isn't to a joint, it's to a muscle, so he should be fine going forward once it mends

None of his injuries are chronic or repatitive, he just always breaks/tears/bruises/rolls something because of how energetic he plays. He never takes a play off and is almost always the player with the most energy and "hustle" out there. Leads to lots of minor injuries.

Seems like we can likely expect the same with JJ, then, with a similar sounding style.

I'll be damned. All this time I thought Varejao was just a douchey hairdo over 6'8"...

unlike JJ, Anderson is bigger then Aldridge and solid on D guarding centers. I definitely would be interested in trading for AV if it were possible. I don't know what Portland has that they'd part with that would garner much interest for Cleveland tho

Anderson and LA are the same heigth and while Varejoa is supposed to be heavier, LA is bigger. With that being said Varejoa is the better defender and I'd love to get him but I doubt a package of Babbit/Leonard/Freeland or something lik ethat would interest the cavs.
