I know he's a champion and they are still the team I think you need to come out of the west, but wtf is going on????

ESPN - Trail Blazers: Team will face Spurs squad without T. Duncan, T. Parker, M. Ginobili, T. Splitter on Mon.

I understand if it's a Western Conference scrub or even Leastern Conference team, but Pops already sat his stars against the rockets and Golden State. Why do it against big time western conference rivals????

Why not sit the night before on a b2b against a weaker team?

He doesn't think he needs them to win. Let's be honest. We just played a 4 in 5 on the road, and have traditionally blown chunks on the first home game back. He's a cocky, disrespectful Asperger's case, but he might be right.

He's employing the Timberwolves strategy. Sit all your stars and let the Blazers try and figure out what to do with the unknowns.

We aren't "big time western conference rivals." After last year's playoffs, we're more their whipping boys

The regular season does not matter for them.

Teams usually play down when the Spurs do this and they get a surprise win. If the Spurs lose, the team gains no psychological advantage since they played a striped down team. :MARIS61:

Yes but year's past, he usually played the better team on the b2b. This year, he's doing it against good wc teams

IMT (My theory) it's just the opposite. He sits starters for games he thinks they'll most likely lose. And teams they'll face in the playoffs so he's be able to keep his cards close to his vest on how to go about winning against them.

Yikes, I hope I didn't buy tickets expecting to see these four. Needless to say, I'm changing my prediction.

    This btw is bs.

I agree with this theory. I think he's making sure teams that may face him in the playoffs can't use a regular season game to scout them.

It also makes a Blazers win a hollow victory. We don't get any psychological edge from a win. Even if we win the season series, it's meaningless because we didn't beat the REAL Spurs.

It's a total mind fuck by Pop. You're not good enough to deserve our best shot, and if you happen to beat our scrubs, big fucking deal, it proves nothing.

Obvious answer, Pop's has bet a bundle on the Blazers to win.

Yeah, he'll bet on the Blazers to win, but not cover the spread.

He always get's his scrubs to play over their heads when the big 3 are out. The games are almost always closer than they should be based on talent alone. Which just proves how good his system is. He can sit three future Hall of Famers, and still compete.

He's got a three team teaser with the Blazers, Lakers, and Milwaukee.

Lets be honest, When is the last time the Blazers have shown that they are a big time threat in the WC playoffs?
