Jeff Brown scored the game-winner 8:09 into double overtime to give the Windsor Spitfires a 4-3 victory over the Erie Otters in Game 2 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals Saturday night at Tullio Arena. The game was the longest in Erie Otters history, and evened the series at one game heading into Monday's Game 3 at Windsor. Brown took a shot that was blocked in front of the Erie net, and then shot his own rebound through the glove side of Ramis Sadikov to give Windsor the win and himself his second goal of the game. The Otters broke the ice 10:29 into the game as Mike Cazzola scored on a two-man advantage for his first goal of the postseason and his fourth career playoff goal. Cazzola whacked in a rebound from a Shawn Szydlowski shot to give Erie the lead. Jake Carrick tied the game for Windsor at 16:17 with his first goal of the playoffs, but Greg McKegg gave Erie back the lead just over a minute later as he finished off a great passing play with a backhand shot through the glove side of Jack Campbell to give Erie a 2-1 lead at 17:36. The lead would be short lived as Ryan Ellis scored at 18:36 to tie the game going into the second period. Brown then scored the first of his two goals at 4:57 of the second to give the Spitfires a 3-2 lead heading into the third period. Szydlowski tied the game at three 6:23 into the third after Cazzola tied up Ellis at the faceoff circle, allowing Szydlowski to dig out the puck and fire a wrist shot through Campbell for his first goal of the postseason, setting up overtime. Both teams had great chances and a pair of power plays each in over 31 minutes of overtime. Brown scored the winner to tie the series and give home ice advantage back to Windsor.
