<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> During training camp, while fighting for a job few expected him to actually win, some Jazz players who have been around the block actually laughed at how hard Andre Owens worked. Friday night, the joke was on the Toronto Raptors ? and no one from Utah was mocking the undrafted rookie's penchant for intensity. With Owens coming off the bench to score 15 points and bury the Raptors with his dead-aim shooting, and Mehmet Okur bouncing back from a two-point game to score a game-high 29, the Jazz had little trouble rolling past still-winless Toronto 99-84 at Air Canada Centre. The University of Houston product went 6-of-10 from the field, with three of his four misses coming on trey tries and five of his six makes coming from inside the 3-point line. Owens scored nine of his 15 on 4-of-8 shooting while playing all 12 minutes in the second quarter, a period in which Utah outscored Toronto 27-14 and established a double-digit lead that never dipped below eight in the second half. If the Raptors ? or even a Jazz teammate or two ? were giggling at the pesky Owens on Friday, they were crying by the time he was done.</div> <div align="center">Source</div>
I really like Owens, he played well against the Bobcats in the few minutes he got, then he does the same against Toronto. I feel bad for Devin Brown, but Owens is playing well. This will make us have more depth in the backcourt now....
I think the Jazz are very good at finding hidden talent, I didnt think McLeod was this good, nor Owens. I'm very happy with both of them so far. One good game isnt enough though, I really like Owens and I feel that he can stick around in this league but he needs to show it. If Sloan would play him more I think he would capitalize the oppurtunity and put up good numbers.
