The bench has outscored the Pistons 70-34 in the last three games. That is more than double. Earlier this month i got in an argument w/ some pistons fans about who has a better bench. This is just a statement of how much better the pacers bench is than detroit. enough said.
The Pacers have a very deep bench, too bad they are currently trying to stave off elimination. Indiana could possibly go 10 deep every night, with Al Harrington, Fred Jones, Anthony Johnson, Jeff Foster and Jonathan Bender making an appearence off the pine.
The Pacers have one of the best benches in the leauge, usally whenever the bench plays well the Pacers usally win,but if the Pacers bench doesnt produce then it seems like it brings the whole team down.

The thing about the battle of the benches is the different styles of coaching by Larry Brown and Rick Carlisle. When Rick was in Detroit, their bench scoring was tops in the league because Carlisle preferred to not over-exhaust the starters, and that mentality carried over when he went to Indiana. Larry Brown, on the other hand, trusts his starters more, so the virtually unchanged Piston bench had a very low output.
well foster hasnt started the last few games because croshere took his spot. but even in the past few games foster hasnt contibuted much if at all to scoring.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trip:</div><div class="quote_post">Don't mean to poke fun of you, but Jeff Foster starts...</div> I was refering to the roster of the past two playoff games. Notice I didn't put Austin Croshere on the list because he is now in the starting lineup.
