The Pacers got a steal with the 17 pick by taking Danny Granger. I;m really suprised that so many team passed him up including Toronto(Babcock you idiot). He could be an impact player and this is a great pick for the Pacers.
I love this pick for the Pacers. Just when you thought things were going downhill due to Reggie Miller retiring they get an amazing pick and an amazing player in Danny Granger. Who would have thought that a player projected to be in the top 10 fell into their laps at #18? Talk about good fortune.
A dream come true for the Indiana Pacers. Coming into the draft Granger on some boards was the number two small forward in the draft behind Marvin Williams and for the Pacers to get that kind of a player at 17 is unbelievable. Babcock is truely an idot and I don't know what else to say about Toronto but they should have taken him at 16. With Artest back and you can fill the Reggie Miller hole with Granger right away the Pacers should have a very good season. Again it's like the Pacers are living in heaven...
Yes the Pacers are getting a steal. I'm live in the same city as the New Mexico Lobos and got to see him play plenty of times. He is going to have a great year. And I think he has a little edge to get back at the teams that passed up on him, so watch out.
I love this move by the Pacers! Granger was my favorite player in the draft by far, and I can tell you Orlando, Toronto, Charlotte, and so on will not be happy to see how good of a career Granger has. What I am wondering is how can Toronto let this kid pass by them 2 TIMES??? Joey Graham was a great pick, but c'mon- Villanueva is definitely not one of my favorite's in the draft. But anyways, Indiana is going to be a heck of a defensive team with the addition of Granger. The odd thing is Rick Carlisle said Granger would be O'Neal, Artest, and Jackson's backup off the bench. So I'm guessing they plan on playing him a little bit of everywhere off the bench...
Granger at the four? Sounds interesting. I was leaning more towards Francisco Garcia at the start of the draft, but the Pacers landed themselves in a no-miss situation by drafting one of Green and Granger. Good pick Walsh and Bird.
Granger can play the four and from what I've seen he can do it well. He's an excellent player that has great overall game, hopefully he can follow after Jermaine and Artest and learn from his mistakes like they did. Granger could end up being the best player in the draft after Marvin Williams, so I think the Pacers made out like bandits by picking him up at 17.
maaaaan, Pacers got a STEAL! Granger is ready to make an impact and was regarded as a lottery pick...he joins a veteran squad, and he is versatile enough to play the 3 or 4, which gives them depth behind Artest and solidifies their bench...
what's needde to be said has been said, but the whole injury issue has to leave a knacking feeling on Pacer's fans heads that somehting will go wrong. I sure hope the best for any NBA player, ad don't htink anything will happen. But if he dropped that far, there had oto be areason...right? regardless, he was a steal, and a great pick for the indiana pacers.
I know it was lucky for the pacers that granger dropped so far down in the draft, but was anybody else dissappointed that we didnt pick Green, another player that in many mock drafts was higher than granger.

A quick, long, defensive four that will try to use his quickness over the other power forward to his advantage. What Marion had this year that Granger doesn't is outstanding athletic ability which Marion used to his advantage on the offensive end, which is the reason I don't believe Granger will be playing much four this year. He has an average athletic ability but is no where close to the Gerald Green's or the Joey Graham's athletic ability of the draft. Still a great pick, a great consistant player who I feel may be starting in front Stephen Jackson some time this season if he starts out the way we think he is going to start out.
im disapointed we didnt pick green were set for the next few seasons and it would have been good to know that we would have someone to fall back on a few years in to the future. having the players and deapth that we do it would have given him a good chance to develop.
And Erazem Lorbek? I looked often Lorbek (Fortitudo Bologna) because I'm from Italy. I Think is a discreet player...good pick! In two or three years, he will play for the Pacers
