Many of you know Joe"Duarte" from the rumors surrounding his participation in the next TUF. I just wanted to introduce to you some of Guam's sickest fighters. These two are the main event at 145ibs and its just been insane. The hype is crazy and these two are ready to bang. You can get more info for these fights at www.pxc.tv

went to the event. Fights were insanely good.

This was the KO of the night. The SHOCKER is extremely well rounded but got caught with this vicious knee TWICE!

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>The University of Guam Field House was the place to be last night as thousands of fans made their way to watch the highly anticipated fight card at PXC 15: Dead Game.

The second match of the night saw a big upset when Justin "the Shocker" Cruz, who had a 13-1 mixed martial arts record coming into the event, was beaten by Robert Wusstig by way of referee stoppage.

Both fighters kept on their feet for most of the first round, trying to get a clean feel for each other.

The combatants used effective punching and knees to one another throughout the round, but neither fighter had a clear advantage when the first round came to a close.

Wusstig changed that immediately and went on the offensive in the second round. He threw back-to-back flying knees, which connected, bloodying Cruz, forcing the referee to stop the match and give Wusstig the victory.

s Baby Joe "Juggernaut" Taimanglo def. Alex Castro: Taimanglo forced Castro to tap out in the third round via a chokehold in the first of two main events.

The match began with both fighters going at it in the stand-up position. Taimanglo seemed to gain control of the round as he took the fight to the ground. Castro fought his way out to bring the fight to a stand again, but just before the bell sounded Taimanglo connected with a right hand that rocked Castro.

Second-round action saw much of the same as Taimanglo assumed control, quickly taking it to the ground. Later in the round the fighters were brought to a stand where Castro threw a few connections before Taimanglo threw a knee, followed by a right hand just before the bell that rocked Castro again.

In the final round of the match, Taimanglo came out determined as he zeroed in and struck with accuracy. After bringing Castro to the ground, Taimanglo forced Castro onto the ground and applied a choke that had Castro tapping out.

s Micah Tobias def. Arnold Balbin: In the first fight of the night, Tobias beat Balbin by way of referee stoppage.

Both fighters came out in the fight throwing punches and trying to get an advantage. Tobias looked to be in trouble early as Balbin got in position to apply a choke hold; however, Tobias reversed the move and got on a full mount. Out of true respect for the fighter who filled in, Tobias allowed Balbin to stand up to restart the fight. Later in the first a leg sweep by Tobias brought Balbin to the ground allowing him to pound Balbin before the referee stopped the fight.

s Ken Tanzawa def. Lionel Garcia: In the third fight of the night Tanzawa forced Garcia to tap out in a fast-paced match.

Tanzawa took early control of the match and seemed to have the match won. Garcia fought his way back though, and seemed to gain control at one point. But as Garcia was about to gain full mount on Tanzawa, a small slip allowed Tanzawa to apply a triangle choke hold that forced Garcia to submit.

s Kyle Aguon def. Jon Delos Reyes: In the fourth fight of the night, Delos Reyes fell to Umatac's Aguon via unanimous decision.

Both fighters came out showing a display of speed and quickness as each threw a variety of punches and kicks. They both stayed with the stand-up game plan and went the full three rounds, where Aguon won on the scorecards.

s Josh Alvarez def. Chris Laayug: In fight No. 5, Laayug lost his PXC debut to Alvarez after the referee stopped the fight in the second round.

Early on Laayug was in position to win after slamming Alvarez several times on the mat, but Alvarez escaped and maintained composure.

In the second round, Laayug had early control, but Alvarez reversed his opponent's side control and applied a chokehold. After a long hold the referee stopped the fight, giving Alvarez the win.

s Hosea Ware def. Tyron Saralu: Both fighters entered the fight with perfect MMA records, but Ware was the only one to keep his as he defeated Saralu via submission.

At the start of the fight both fighters came out aggressively attacking, but it was Ware who had early control of the match. Most of the first round was a battle for position and control by both fighters. In the middle of the second round Ware gained side-control and as Saralu tried to escape Ware slipped on an arm bar, forcing Saralu to tap.

The main event between heaveyweight champion Roque Martinez and Charles Aiken was not available at the time of the press.</div>

What a brutal knee. Sounds like the event was a big success. Any chance these guys make it to one of the bigger orgs?

I would like to hope so. I know there were rumors of some trying to get on bigger cards like the DREAM in JAPAN. Hopefully it will happen soon.

Joe Duarte doing well on TUF and representing the island will be a big + for our islanders here as well.
