Don't take these as 100%, these are rumors that were on the PackerChatters Podcast (however, the guys that do the show and their sources are very reliable, they know insiders, etc.)If available in June, Green Bay has a VERY high interest in RB Travis Henry from the Titans. They feel Henry may be on his way out because of Tennesse having White and Brown back there. If released because of injury problems, the Packers would seriously look into Priest Holmes. He is very high on TT's wish list. They feel he would tear it up with the zone blocking scheme. I am not sure if KC used zone blocking or not.RB Chris Perry could MAYBE be on his way out of Cincy because he wants a starting job, but that's not going to happen in Cincy. Using KGB to trade for him would not be out of the question.JJ Arrington from the Cardinals is another guy Packers could pursue (the radio show guy said this is way up in the air as his source is a Cardinal player that he went to High School with). So like I said, this may be a long shot.....Saints RB Michael Bennett (former Badger!) may be pursued by the Dolphins and Packers. The Saints have McAllister and Bush still. Hell, I didn't even know Bennett was on the Saints.Julius Jones is a hot guy on the trading block. The hot rumor is that the Packers would trade Roman and a 3rd or 4th rounder. The Offensive Tackle that the Seahawks released (Hunter?) is a guy that Ted Thompson may seriously look at.Some receivers that may be linked to the Packers: Mike Williams (Lions), Charles Rogers (Lions), Kelly Washington (Bengals), and Ashley Lelie (Broncos).

Those are all some pretty big names, but I donno why you'd want Priest Holmes if you need durable RBs... I don't see you guys getting Jones, that trade sounds like a rip off for Dallas, I can see you getting Henry, Perry, Arrington or Bennett, though.

I did not like what I saw of JJ Arrington last year. Say he had a terrible line (and he did) but I still would rather have everyone else on that list over him.

Travis Henry may be an option. Priest Holmes likely is not. If the Chiefs cut him, he would likely retire. I doubt that the Bengals would part with Chris Perry who played a key role last season. The Cardinals invested a 2nd round pick on JJ Arrington so I highly doubt they would part with him so soon, plus he will be the #2 RB and would be a good backup to have since they have little depth. Michael Bennett would likely need to be traded for draft picks, something TT doesn't like to part with. The Dolphins and Chiefs are also the top teams requesting him. That trade offer won't sway the Cowboys for Julius Jones. Jones was their top pick and shows flashes of potential as a rookie. The only way we go after one of those WRs is if they are cut.

On that list of RB's...Priest > Jones > Henry > Bennett > Arrington > Perry

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Johnny White Guy @ May 20 2006, 10:06 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>On that list of RB's...Priest > Jones > Henry > Bennett > Arrington > Perry</div>Perry is a former first round pick whos been trapped behind Rudi Johnson in Cincinnati. He is a much better option then either Henry, Bennett, or Arrington IMO, and Priest is at best a one year fill.
