Does anyone else think another Veteran O-linemen should be brought in ? Not necessarily for compettion as starters or anything but for depth, I mean there is not much depth behind our starters in the form of veterans, Our starters right now probably look like this LT- Clifton LG- Junius Coston 2nd year player C- Scott Wells RG- Daryen Colledge ROOKIE RT- Taushcer Now the various other O-linemen most likely to make the roster that have are Adrain Klemm G/T 5 year vet William Whittaker G/T 2nd year player Jason Spitz C/G ROOKIE Chris White C/Gaurd 2nd year player Tony Moll T/G ROOKIE then we have 3 or 4 others that are long shots and rookie Free Agents with only one of them being in the league for more than 1-2 year and thats Wayne Lucier former giants C/G who actually started for the G men a little in 04 but looking at how woeful the Giants O-line was that year its hard to be really happy about him. Now looking at this it would appear as if adding one or two Veterans with experiance would be a good thing.
well you guys are learning a new line scheme and i think it will really take time to get used to...the draft picks will help you guys and you seem ok at depth
I don't know that Colledge can play OG. He is one of these lighter, more athletic tackles from at a mid major (Boise St)so that transition may not occur. Spitz has a better chance to play guard IMO. If the Packers now have a blocking scheme like the Broncos & Falcons then the sky's the limit for Colledge.
It should somewhat hurt your line that you guys like flangan. He was the main leader of the line. At least you still have a good LT
Losing Flanagan was no big deal. He lost a step last year and was outplayed by both Ruegamer and Wells at center. When he returned from injury last year, O-Line play actually got worse. Age was also a factor... Losing Flanagan did nothing to make Green Bay's line worse, in my opinion. As to the original question? Yeah, I wish they'd bring in a vet. I really wanted them to re-sign Verba. A shame he ended up in Detroit.

Team could use one more depth player. Colledge is the ideal size for the zone blocking scheme which we will run. He's a good fit at guard in our scheme. He'd be a bad fit in a power running scheme. Colledge will likely play LG this year. Coston is the front runner at RG and the coaching staff has high hopes. Tauser and Clifton are very solid. In fact I think that's one of the better book end tackle tandems in the NFL. Wells should play well at center. As long as we don't go Sherman on him and switch him around. Sherman was a good coach but one of his flaws was switching players around to much and one of the players he did it with was Wells.
yeah wells is definatly a center not a gaurd but he played much better gaurd than Klemm or Whittaker, although thats not saying much.
