<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Scott Padgett's 21-month-old son, Lucas, stood next to his daddy's locker, careening his neck to try to see the name on the back of his miniature Rockets jersey. As everyone walked by, Lucas pointed over his shoulder and said, "Daddy. Daddy." Despite having the replica jersey for more than a year, Lucas just realized during Sunday's game with the Lakers that it matched his dad's, and he wanted to make sure everyone else saw it, too. Padgett, a 6-9 forward, might have needed Lucas' help with introductions in the past. But since hitting two game-winning jumpers in the last month, he hardly goes unrecognized these days. Finally! At the beginning games of the season I kept wanting Padgett to play more minutes but it never happened. Finally, Houston puts him in more and see what happens? He performs on the clutch for them in many situations with his three pointers, hustle, and quickness. The only thing I am worried about is that maybe he'll start going into a slump and they'll replace him back with Taylor.
Padgett is doing great things for us, no doubt. I think that Van gundy would be moving Weatherspoon up in the rotation before Mo. I've always said from the begininning of the season that it shoud be Spoon as the 2nd option for PF. Now it looks like Padgett is getting the job done and doing it VERY well. I'd say we have a deep rotation at PF now that Padgett and Spoon are playing better, but I still have issues with Howard, who is playing better now but still a weak link in the chain.
I've even proposed starting Padgett at the four in preseason. He has range to create space for Yao, and he hustles more than anyone on the team. However, I'm happy with 25 minutes for Padgett and Howard's improved effort logging 30 a game. Btw, is Padgett an actor in Like Mike? He looks like that white teammate who helped Bow Wow out on the team.
Yeah, he does play well when he gets the oppurtunity. He hustles on the defensive end better than mo taylor but I still see him getting beat or having to commit stupid fouls against quicker forwards. But we don't have to worry with the way Wesley takes charge in defense..as Tmac said it, Wesley's great defending passes on to the other players in the team.
Good to see the Kentucky boy playing some good ball for you all. I honestly thought his first few years in the NBA that he wasn't going to produce like he did at the college level, but he's proved me wrong...
