Yeah, me either. I am in the meat industry. I just thought it was a funny setting for a news conference.
As a Democrat, I think it's absolutely hilarious that this is the best the Republicans have to offer thus far for 2012. Palin would absolutely get trounced in a general election. (as an aside, I absolutely think if the GOP is smart, they'll start putting Gov. Jindal out there as a viable candidate) Palin is seriously a dumb hick who has one thing going for her ... she doesn't look like the normal unfuckable hags that make up the female contingent of the Republican party. Yeah, I know it's harsh. But if anyone believes that Palin's popularity in her party had nothing to do with her looks, you're absolutely kidding yourself. Take away her looks, and she's just another back-woods moron with a scary level of ignorance about national and international issues. -Pop
1) Why is it you think she's the best the republicans have to offer in 2012? Who made that decision in 2008? Oh, I guess it was you. Well, hell, that tells us something. 2) Why is people on the left are more often so filled with hate like this? For someone who tries to do the best she can, and often succeeds, those are real nice and respectful thoughts. I'm truly grateful I don't live with the mindset of so many others. If I did I'd propably kill myself.
1) Because that's what Republican strategists have said thus far themselves. Granted we're still a few years away from that decision, but there isn't a lot out there as of now. 2) I'm not saying I evaluate her that way, I'm saying a whole shitload of the population does. And most of them are within her own party. Hell - I bet if you googled Sarah Palin MILF you'd probably get quite a few hits. I still think she's an idiot. Her grasp of the issues was, at times, mind-boggling. And, like I said, if you think she would have captured the attention of the masses in the same way if she looked like Kay Bailey-Hutchison, you're out-of-touch with how appearance-obsessed our culture is. -Pop
Palin does seem somewhat like a female version of George Bush sometimes... I really hope she isn't on the republican ticket in 2012... I'm not a democrat or a republican, i usually just vote for who i think the best candidate is (though this was my first year voting) and I voted for Obama this year. I would like to see a Jindal/Romney ticket for republicans... I may vote for that depending on how Obama does in his first term.
