The panthers have many ways they could go in the draft.
    Players they might be targeting:

QBs: They will most likley not draft a QB because they have Delhomme, Weinke and last years 4th rounder Stefan Lefors. They might draft a QB/Athlete like Micheal Robinson but that isnt likely

    RBs:
Laurence Maroney-He is a homerun threat, and is similar to Deshawn Foster

LenDale White- Panthers want this type of back, one who can pound the ball, but John Fox likes to stay away from players with bad character.

Deanglo Williams- He will likely be gone by this pick, and is a little small for Fox running style but is very productive.

Joseph Addai- This might be a reach but he can do everything you ask of him, he also might be avaliable in round 2.

Gerald Riggs-He has power which John Fox loves and could be picked in the 4th round

Full Backs: Brad Hoover isnt as good as he was.
Laurence Vickers: He can be a HB and FB. He has a lot of power and could be a very good backup at both postions

Wide Recievers: Panthers will likely not select a WR because they have Steve Smith, Keyshawn, Drew Carter, Keary Colbert, and special teams captain Karl Hankton. If they did they would take a return specialist.

    Tight Ends:
Leonard Pope- Panthers starter Kris Magnum isnt anything special. With Steve Smith, Keyshawn, Peppers, and Pope the red zone offense would be very lethal. He might drop to round 2.

Marcedes Lewis: He can flat out catch the ball, and he can be got at round 2.

Anthony Fasono: He has good hands, but doesnt have any big plays in him, will likely be a good player but not stand out like Shockey.

Offensive Tackles: Panthers need depth at O-line.

Andrew Whitworth: He has nice size for the postion, and would provide nice depth behind Wharton.
    Others: Daryn Colledge, Joe Toledo.

Guards: They will likely go after a road grader like Max Jean Gilles, Taitusi Lutui, Davin Joseph, Charles Spencer.

Centers: Panthers might draft a C but they have Geoff Hangagter there, but Hangagter can play Guard also so they might draft a C late in the draft.

    Defensive Tackles
:Panthers will not draft a DT because they have too much depth

Defensive End They dont really have a #4 DE behind Al Wallace for the backup and will might draft a DE late in the draft

    Linebackers:
Ernie Sims: Panthers would have to trade up to get him but he is probly the LB that the panthers want the most beside Hawk. Sims is a high impact player who is good in coverage.

Thomas Howard: He is extremly fast running a 4.4, but is really raw.

Demeco Ryans: Extemly good tackler, great character, but a little slow. Fox probly loves this guy.

Stephen Tulloch: He had tremendous bowl where he flat out dominated and would be a steal in the 4ht.

D'quell Jackson: I really like this guy and i hope the panthers draft him in the 2nd and move him to OLB where he can be a beast.

Freddie Roach, Oliver Hoyte, Abdul Hodge are other ILB they can get in round 3 or later

Cornerbacks: with the departure of Ricky manning panthers gain a 3rd round pick where they will draft their dime and quater CB.

Demario Minter: has nice speed and can is good against the run, he will be the most likely CB they will take in the 3rd or 4th round.

Charles Gordon: He is a playmaker, and can play in mutiply positions, doesnt have much experience at corner.

Safteys:Panthers want to have more depth at Safety or find a starter and move Shawn Willams to backup.

Jimmy Williams- They would probly have to give up a 3rd and a 4th to get to the spot where they can draft him but he can be a shut down corner and a good safety.

Darnell Bing: Panthers met with him and really like him will likely move into the early 2nd round to get him. He is very aggresive.

Ko Simpson: Might be avaliable in late 2nd round, he is a hard hitter and is very explosive.

Jason Allen: is coming of an injury but is very powerful in the run.

Greg Blue: Panthers want a safety like him. Blue can flat out knock you out.

Daniel Bullocks: Has good insticts and good size for a safety.

Others are Roman Harper, Reed Doughty.

Kickers: Panthers would likely get a 7th rounder or undrafted to provide competion for kasey.

Josh Huston: Is a good kickoff man, but only one year starting at kicker.

Returner: Panthers biggest need is a return man. You dont want your all star WR returning kicks so that why i think they will draft:

Devin Hester: he is flat out explosive and can be your #5 corner, #6 WR and your pro bowl returner.

Jeremy Bloom: A little small but is very explosive.

Others: Ricky Williams (Bethune Cookman), and Willie Reid.

If you're looking at a fullback, why not Matt Bernstein from Wisconsin? I'll be interested to see when he gets drafted and where he goes...

The reason why i pick Vickers is because he can play HB also, Bernstein is a massive run blocker and he is a possibitly.

Im starting to lean to the panthers not taking a 1st round RB. our GM says he expects big things out of Eric Shelton next year who was our 2nd round RB last year.

I really really hope the panthers trade up and get Ernie Sims at LB or Jimmy Williams at SS. I also really want Devin Hester in the draft around the late 3rd or 4th.

Didn't the Panthers sign Hartwig (Center) away from the Titans?

Nick Reid (OLB) Kansas will be an intriguing 2nd day pick. I wouldn't mind seeing him in aqua & orange.
