With the Lakers recent comments on them being ok with trading Butler for Brown because it got them Gasol, who do you think is the better individual player?

Pau is way more efficient and being a big man helps me side with him too. He is perfect for the triangle offense

I'll go with Pau. He's a very versatile big man and does mostly everything really well. This is no disrespect to Butler, but I think Pau has the more impressive skill set, especially if you consider his size. He can pass well, has a very good mid range jump shot, a good back to the basket game, he's a good FT shooter and a solid defender as well.

Pau is an elite Power Forward and he's been more consistent than Butler.

    Answer the truth.
Did you even know who Gasol was before he got traded to Lakers? Prob not

I'll agree with you he fits perfectly with th Lakers but if he was on another team he would be playing bad.

People will vote for Pau because he really is the better player. He's an elite, top 3 or 5 PF in this league.

Pau was on the Memphis Grizzlies for years, of course he knows who Gasol is. He was great there as well.

I think most people here knew who Pau was before he came to LA. Even though he played in a small market team in Memphis, he is a former All Star and did lead Memphis to the playoffs for a few years, including a year where they won a franchise record 50 games.

    Brand (when healthy)

All guys I would take over Pau.

Did I know who Gasol was??? Are you serious? Yes I knew of the previous All-star :sigh:

Oh so he would play bad on a bad team? Oh like in Memphis when he was an all-star and would have been a multiple all-star if he didnt injure his foot the next year. That kind of bad?

...nope never heard of him

Of those, I would take KG, Bosh, Timmy and Amare.

Dirk is a poor defender and, in my book, is still a SF stuck in the body of a PF. Al Jefferson technically plays center, even though I think he's a PF. Beyond that though, Pau has a much better skill set than Al. Brand hasn't exactly been healthy and Pau has been a lot better than him this year.

Dirk may be a poor defender, but he is still an elite player and someone I feel is substantially better than Gasol. Jefferson plays center because the Twolves bigs are horrible. He's a PF playing out of position.

Pau has been playing better than Brand this year, but when healthy Brand is a superior talent.

Well Ill look at it in the Lakers eyes. Some of these players are better but wouldnt be as a good fit for the Lakers.
KG No...but only because he is a Celtic...and we have enough assholes (Kobe)
Bosh No (can pass as well as Pau)
Al Jefferson No (doesnt have an outside shot like Pau and we already have a big man in Bynum)
    Duncan yes of course
Nowitski no, we have scorers already, his points arent needed
    Stoudemire yes
Brand (when healthy) yes if it is the Brand before injury

And the key word you use is when healthy. Has Brand been healthy? Nope. Pau is putting together a much better season than Brand at this point, so I'll give him the nod because of that. And like I said, I do consider Al Jefferson to be a PF as well, but I'll still Gasol over him. He's a more offensively talented player and is probably a better defensive player as well. The one thing Jefferson has going for him is the fact that he's an absolute monster on the glass.

Pau...Caron is good but his stats are inflated cause there is barley anybody else to help him on offense...his stats will even go up more after the trade today

I don't think thats true. Butler was able to put up those numbers with Arenas and Jamison healthy. And Jamison is a pretty damn good offensive player, even with Arenas out
