Ran across this article: The 6-8, 296-pound Armstead... Holy Moly. The kid beat out a dynamic Ricky Havili-Heimuli, who several years ago was playing in the BCS game. Watching Armstead is going to be sweet. http://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/index.ssf/2013/08/oregon_ducks_football_last_sea.html
Yes from the words of Muddy Water..... AA is a "MANISH BOY!" Going to be fun to watch him bear swat players across the field this year!
I've heard Aliotti claim that the DLineman bookending the NT in their 3-4 are pretty interchangable positions... or the NT spot is the one with a different set of responsibilities. Since Ricky has been backing up Wade at the NT for the previous seasons, maybe the decision was made to keep him there in the 2nd unit. I know that Alex is listed as the NT, but I'll be watching to see where guys line up. With Heimuli, Balducci & Buckner, 2nd string D-Line is going to be nasty this season. Of course with this next game we might be seeing more of Kamp, Bair & Ebert then any of the first two units STOMP
Buckner at the NG seems odd to me, perhaps I wonder how he'll get good leverage at his size playing up on squattier center's. He seems like a DT to me. He, AA and Balducci are the future and that's a good future to have!
