<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (NetsDaily)</div><div class='quotemain'>Two legitimate seven-footers took the stage Thursday at the Nets’ practice facility and reading between the lines it appears Kiki Vandeweghe likes both JaVale McGee and Robin Lopez, adding both have big upsides and Lopez has “great hair”. Friday, two other bigs, Marreese Speights and Joey Dorsey, get looks, but the best matchup may be Brandon Rush of Kansas vs. Chase Budinger of Arizona.</div> Bigs Day at Nets - Al Iannazzone - In the 'Zzone Draft Profile: Robin Lopez - - New Jersey Nets Draft Profile: Javale McGee - - New Jersey Nets Draft Profile: Sonny Weems - - New Jersey Nets Draft Profile: Marcellus Kemp - - New Jersey Nets Draft Profile: Manny Ubilla - - New Jersey Nets Workout Schedule Filling Up - Net Income - NetsDaily Blog Budinger unlikely to return to Cats - Andy Katz - ESPN <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Iannazzone)</div><div class='quotemain'>Vandeweghe assessed McGee thusly: “I would say McGee is very talented athletically. He’s just very gifted. He can shoot. He can obviously run. He tested out very well, can jump. And he’s exceptionally long. “I do think he will improve. So I think there is upside with him. Some guys you’re thinking they can come in and compete right away. Other guys you can say, ‘You know what, I can see he’s going to get a lot better.’ McGee is a guy who can continue to improve for a number of years.” ............. The Nets haven’t decided anything yet. And you all know my feeling by now: they should trade at least one of the picks to get veteran help. ............. Vandeweghe noted he [Manny Ubilla] did well on the defensive end. “Defensively I thought he was good,” he said. “He really competed, shot the ball pretty well, and he’s a heady player. He knows how to play. He had a good workout.” ............. Free agent Julius Hodge was shooting around after the workouts. The former NC State guard, drafted by Vandeweghe in Denver in 2005, has been working out at the Nets’ facility and could be on their summer league team next month.</div> So, if you trust Kiki, McGee and Ubilla look intriguing...to at least think about. A good shooting and defending backup PG would be good in the 2nd round...so I wouldn't mind picking up Ubilla. Especially considering the fact that he's a Jersey kid. (Btw, don't trust the Nets' draft profile of Ubilla. I really doubt a 6-2, 185 player could play Center.) He could even potentially go undrafted...that'd be nice if we could pick him up, and he turned into an undrafted steal. Wishful thinking, tho. IMO we should try to trade away one of the 1st rounders, to either get veterain help (like Al said), or trade away both 1st rounders to move up and get a better player, if possible.
