The news comes on the heels of Andrews’ second arrest since the Super Bowl loss to the Giants in February. The defensive back was charged on Monday with allegedly holding a handgun to his fiancee’s head during an argument at his Mansfield apartment. Back in February, Andrews had been arrested in Lowell two days following the Super Bowl and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The 24-year-old was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round of the 2006 NFL Draft. In two seasons, he totaled one defensive tackle, 23 special teams tackles and returned four kickoffs for 149 yards. He had a 77-yard kickoff return for a touchdown last year against the Dolphins. He is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing at Attleboro District Court on Thursday.</div>
This league is going haywire. They need to figure out something to get rid of this thug identity that the NFL has developed over the past few years. I'll still watch it though.
