Sounds more and more like a true NBA player all the time.

Yeah, it sounded like a bad situation over there all around. Is there a spot for him on the bench? I haven't been following his production overseas, but based on these results I'm guessing he wasn't torching the nets over there...

If you read the article, you will see he was averaging 26.5 PPG before the injury.

So if they "sacked" him, then, unlike Kenyon Martin, he doesn't have to wait until the end of the Chinese season, right? He can sign with an NBA team right now?

Nope, the twitters are saying he has to wait until March.

Thanks, Boob, but I was hoping for more info than just the PPG... I suppose I'm just going to have to do my own legwork. Sigh.

We could cut Armon and bring him back. At least Party can stick the 3 and play the role of team mascot.

Given our new uptempo style of play, Patty's game would be a real asset.

Do we really want a guy who fakes injuries? Or did China lie and this is a faked faked injury?

Sort off topic, but kind of not. What about Aaron Brooks? Does Phoenix have first rights to him? Could they match a contract offer we made to him? Do we have enough cap space to even consider it?

Patty looked great at St. Mary's in an uptempo style. His fast break pull up jumper was money.

Those are my thoughts too. Scanning through the recent Youtube clips of him reminded me of how quick he is -- he might really thrive in the new system we've got. On the other hand, calling the defenses he faced in China "bad" is... an understatement. I watched a supposed "highlight" montage of a big game Patty had not so long ago, and I swear there was barely a hand put up against any of his shots. It's hard to put any weight on his gaudy stats against that kind of competition.

Still, I say we should take him back. He's got speed, a decent stroke, and a great big goofy smile.

I know there are a lot of fans of Patty in this forum, but I wouldn't change a damn thing. I don't care how much the kid is a positive in the lockerroom. I don't want anything to mess up what we have right now. Maybe in the summer, we facture new players. But not now...

IDK but I'd take Brooks > Mills for sure. That said I don't see us picking up another guard this year.

I don't see it messing anything up. I sincerely doubt that (a) Patty would take minutes away from any of the players currently playing, and (b) that Patty would make any fuss at all. He would just be injury insurance. What happens if Felton goes down? And with this compressed schedule and the extra pounds he's carrying, I see that as very possible.

Do you want to mess with chemistry right now? I know Mills had good chemistry with last year's team, but this is a different bunch. I would hate to see Patty come in and see different clicks on the team start developing.

Maybe Patty comes in and blends right in with the new group, but is it worth the risk? If Felton goes down, Blazers are in trouble and I don't think Mills changes things a whole lot.

If Patty ever becomes our starting PG; we are in a world of hurt, IMO.
