<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Sports Illustrated - New Orleans point guard Chris Paul left the Hornets' game against Portland on Friday night with a torn ligament in his right thumb and will miss at least two weeks.

Paul grabbed his right thumb and walked toward the Hornets bench after a basket by Portland's Juan Dixon with 11:24 left in the third quarter.</div>
I was hoping he would get a AS spot, I hope he still has a chance.

Man what a blow to this team. Chris Paul has been the clear cut ROY so far and a legit canidate to be in the ASG. Speedy Claxton will be the starter now, but two weeks without their young leader is going to be rough for the Hornets.

Nah, they wanted to keep Speedy in his existing role (spark off the bench) so started JR and Snyder in the backcourt.

I'm shattered by Paul's injury but knowing Chris he'll be back within a week.

Ligaments can become very painful and the extent, seriousness and recovery time is pure speculation even with an MRI. Paul will be ROY but the chance for the Hornets to finish at .500 or higher is now on a slippery slope (it was before the injury, but with Paul you always felt the team had a chance in every game.) Let's all hope this amazing new talent will be back on the court for all NBA fans in short order.
