It's not fair to show Sam the door right now, regardless of the fact he does commit some mistakes, like everyother coach. He doesn't a decent team to work with.
^ exactly we need to give Sam some time he doesnt have the perfect team in his hands anyways any coach who would coach the raps would have trouble due to the inexperience
say no to paul silas... he is another lenny wilkens... you gotta give eric musselman or doug collins a try!!!
I think Rob Cocksmack needs to go before Mitchell does. I've never had a real problem with Mitchell. The GM is the weed in the garden that is the Raptors franchise.

I think doug collins would be a great coach when he doesn't have Kwame Brown to deal with and a bunch of other misfits. In terms of firing Mitchell ... my only question is when ?? Do we keep going at the rate things are right now and hope something stabilizes or just cut our losses and start over again??? Mitchell is just too weak of an X's and O's coach to be effective in the NBA (as of right now). It shows up every night when we get abused with Matchup problems, set plays out of time outs etc... He always complains about defense but it's pretty aparent he doesn't know how to coach it... Every game the oposing team will drive to the net and then kick it out to the wide open guy in the pocket corner. There are all kinds of problems like that showing up on the floor.... we can't cover anyone who comes off a curl screen either!!! I know we have a rookies and they have a ways to go etc.. but i think we have more potential on our team right now than Mitchell is getting out of it, so i think he should go unless he shows a marked improvement by the end of the season. It's doubtful a new coach would bring us into the playoffs this year so giving him some more time to work things out wouldn't be too bad.

He's had a season of losing under his belt already. And its not like the whole roster got revamped from last season. There's no player/ball movement in his offensive sets. It always seems like there's always one player in the post while the other 4 guys are outside the arc waiting for something to happen down low. And whats up with Bonner in the starting 5? We already suck at rebounding and its not like Bonner is a big time rebounder and a post presence. We have a good bunch of talented players, theyre just not being utilized properly.
^If you add Phil Jackson to the raptors, we will still lose. If you add LB, we'll still lose. If you add Silas, we will still lose. Give it time, you guys have to realize he's only in his second season, and was just recently transited from player to coach. He needs time to work on his plays, and everything else. You shouldn't jump the gun on him, because he has the potential to be a great coach. Not to mention I don't think that another change in the coaching staff is benifical to Bosh, and all of the other players. Changing the system all over again isn't going to help, only make it worse.

Some of the coaching moves are outright stupid: ex. We'd be getting brutalized with Bonner on defense and he doesn't even bother to make adjustments until 5 sets later when the other team has basically run over us every time. Same thing with Jalen Rose on d. Mitchell is too slow to react during games and doesn't have the raptors well prepared out of stoppages in play. Our rotations are pathetic, I have no idea what the guy is thinking when he has certain combinations of players on the floor at times. I have no problem with giving Mitchell time to make improvements, but he's definitely not at the point right now were I would say he should be a part of the raptors long term plans.

But as time passes on, and he gets more experienced, he's going to stop making a lot of these silly mistakes. As he grows, so does the team, vice versa as well. Let's face it, our team is trash, full of kids who have a bright future, but right now we are trash. You cannot expect Mitchell to do very well, and as I said, he is making a lot of silly mistakes now, but this whole team is looking a couple years down the road, if not next season. I'm sure Sam will wisen up, and another staff change just cannot be benificial, think of how all these changes already hampered Bosh's development? We can't add another log to the fire, because it's already bad enough.
I like the fact that Sam has calmed down a lot this season (is this due to the departure of Rafer perhaps?)
