<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">On the second day of the NBA?s free-agent negotiating period, Bulls general manager John Paxson repeated his desire to keep the roster intact ? but he left the door open if any teams want to do a sign-and-trade deal. The Bulls have the right to match any offer to their four restricted free agents ? Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry, Chris Duhon and Jannero Pargo. ?We?re not letting our guys go,? Paxson said Saturday at the Berto Center. ?I kind of look at it like, if people want to go out there and do something without our help, they?re just wasting their time. If they want to get something done, it?s going to have to be with our help.? So far, Paxson has not taken any calls from teams interested in working a sign-and-trade deal with one of the Bulls? free agents. Paxson agreed that it?s safe to say the Bulls will match any offer to Chandler or Duhon. Paxson is planning to keep the team?s midlevel exception free until Duhon re-signs. Curry?s situation is more complicated, since he?s about to return to the basketball court following three months of inactivity because of a heart condition. ?The thing with Eddy is we still have some things to look into ? insurance issues, all sorts of stuff,? Paxson said. ?He?s got a doctor that said he can go ahead and resume activity. I know he?s been real anxious to get moving, to get off the couch and get back in the gym. He?s got the green light to do that from Dr. (David) Cannom.? Paxson plans to wait a few days before making formal contract offers to his own free agents. While taking care of their own is the Bulls? first priority this summer, Paxson did place several phone calls to other free agents Friday.</div> Source
Paxson is going to make the best out of this situation all these teams talking about signing our free agents such as Curry, Chandler, and Duhon, but they forgetting we can match any offer made to them. To a certain extent I think Paxson is talking a bigger game then he will bring to the table in the end, because in the end the organization needs to put away some cash for when Hinrich, Gordon, and Deng hit free agency. I do not see him letting any of our guys just walk though this off-season.
