Just heard on WIP610 sports radio that the 76ers may have intrested in retrieving Gary since he will most likely want out of LA after this season's end. Gary hates LA's system in which has the triangle offense and he doesn't really like being on a team built w/ superstars after all. I myself think that Gary will be out especially if they lose this series. I also think the 76ers could give him more money than 1 mill a year and think that he and AI would fit nicely together.

I agree with you saying that The Glove and AI will fit togehter because thay both can't keep their mouth shut but thay will give O'Brien trouble togehter

The only problem i have with this rumor is the fact that the sixers already have a great pg in Eric Snow

Though if Payton were to go to the sixers I have to admit I would love seeing the dou of AI and Payton.

Also I believe a couple of teams might be able to trade big names for Eric Snow and maybe one or two more players form the Sixers roster.

I'm not too thrilled about this. Well first of all Gary Payton is not fitting in the triangle offense, but missing open shots and not defending doesn’t have to do anything with the triangle offense. In other words Gary Payton is finish. As far as I'm concerned I wouldn't want him on the 76ers. I really hope this is BS. And there is a chance the 76ers could get Ben Gordon in the NBA Draft, so I really hope there is no need for Gary Payton.

One great thing I love about O'brien is that he is a run n gun type of coach that gets his teams down the floor in a hurry. He also is a 3-ball coach, which should also make this season interesting.

I wouldnt mind Gary Payton on the Sixers,he could fit into the offense as long as he wouldnt mind giving shots up to AI,and then Snow coming of the bech wouldnt be half bad either,I know that Gary Payton can still play but I think he needs to recognize what his role will be on any team he will play on until he retires.

This makes no sense for the 76ers. They already have Eric Snow, AI, McKie, and Buckner to play the guard minutes. Even if they trade Snow, what do they expect to get back for him, he's on the decline and the 76ers would be selling themselves short. Gary Payton has one or two years left at the most, so in two years, the 76ers would be in need of a PG once again. Doesn't make much sense for them to even consider signing Payton. They need to sign or draft another scorer to help Iverson out on offense.

I totally agree with that statement, especially with the fact that it is so true that they have many capable and even incapable, but let's just say, the Guard spots are covered. Plus Payton would only bring bad things in my opinion, the attitude combinations of AI and his would be too bad to describe.

Also he isn't what he used to be, same goes for AI. They may be great players, current or former superstars but the use of both on the same team is just wrong and wouldn't work. They're both bound to do worse next season if they're to stay.

Bad idea, they aready have iverson and snow and if they add payton, it will be just like the lakers, they add payton to start and then snow becomes better and payton will get less time to play.

First, I don't see any real likelyhood of this, but that's not my point of replying.

Were the issue to end up with GP in Phila, OB coming down on him or AI isn't going to be an issue. OB let PP and AW have virtual free reign in Boston. He coddles his stars, for good or bad. Unless OB does a complete 180 on coaching philosophy, don't expect much turmoil between OB and AI, unless AI really steps out of line.

Ok, in my head I think I can see AI and Payton being a hell for other teams to guard but in real life I see them giving O'brien hell. Then again O'brien was able to handle the antics of Pierce and Walker all those years. I think it was BS that they always talk about on WIP but I just wanted to see what you's all thought.

Just leave the hall of famer alone. I feel sorry for all the hall of famers who have stayed with their distinctive team for 10 years or so and then being moved around like crazy later on.

well i wouldnt mind having AI and Payton on the same team...but i cant see snow coming off the bench unless we get BG in the draft somehow...it doesnt really matter to me..as long as our team improves this year..and makes the playoffs then ill be happy..all we can do is wait and find out...i hate the end of seasons because all of this trade BS goes on and hardly any of it happens..

I dont think any team would really be intrested in him after that horrible final series and he has said that he wouldnt mind coming back to the lakers espcially know that phil has said his chances of returning are slim anyway I see him remaining a laker for one more year to try to raise his stocks cause no team would really like to offer him a long term contract now that he is over 30 and shown that he no longer is as good a defensive player as he once was and can no longer break down the offense like he use to be able to

Gary's biggest problem this season was that he didn't have the ball enough, and if he played with Eric Snow and Iverson he'd be seeing the ball even less than he did with the Lakers. Plus Philly would probably only offer him the veteran miniumum of 1.5 mil, whereas he would see much more time and the ball as a Laker and make 4 million more. There is also a strong chance that Phil might not even be in L.A. next year, and I think he'll take his chances and go for one more season. Gary is a good addition to a team that needs a ball handler, such as the Suns or Clippers. The last place he should end up is a team with a lot of guards who need the ball.

Oh, well yes he's just as bad. Everyone on that station sucks. I was so mad once before I tried to call up and yell last season about LB and some coaching move he made during the game and they didn't put me on cos I wasn't 21. Grrr. Then the guy argued with me when I told him what I wanted to say onair lol.
