Scott Verplank on the other hand feels they shouldn't.

Then again, acquiring Payton means committing to him as a starter (he's not coming as a backup), which isn't fair to the guy who played his way into the starting lineup this past season, Speedy Claxton. </div>

I wouldn't bother to get Payton as a matter of fact I am glad that they didn't get him the first time around. Payton would be a cancer to the Warriors if they got him, plus he can't defend like he used to. Warriors shouldn't even think of getting him unless they can get him gor the veterans minimum. Payton's definately not as bad as he played as a Laker, but his skills have definately decreased. You could just see by the way Claxston out played Payton when they went head to head that Payton's not the player he was a couple of years ago.

Well if we all remember the conflict between payton and speedy when the lakers and warriors played this season if they try and aquire payton at that starting position it would deeply upset speedy and result in conflict inside of the locker room and result int he killing of the warriors team inside out.

For this to work first I would think of cunsulting everyone inside the orginization including the players to see what they think before they make a attempt at payton. Also they need to make sure that payton will provide them with what they need he played horrible for the lakers this year so if you are gona sign him you would be taking a big risk.

2 years ago, I would have said yes. 1 year ago, I would have said maybe if the price was right. Now, NO WAY!

Hell no I'm backing Speedy. If were going to get an Oakland native it's best to court Paul Pierce and Jason Kidd

Why would the Warriors want Hometown Boy Gary Payton with them?

I See no need for him on the Warriors roster, and i for sure don't want him on the Kings
Besides...He's not the same player he was like 5 years ago,and getting Payton would cause more problems, than solutions!
