<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">New York, NY (Sports Network) - The NBA Wednesday suspended Sacramento Kings guard Peja Stojakovic one game for making improper contact with a game official.

Stojakovic brushed referee Bernie Fryer late in the second quarter of Tuesday night's 114-97 win over Memphis. Stojakovic received a technical foul, but stayed in the game, where he eventually poured in a career-high 41 points.

The sixth-year pro will miss the Kings' Christmas Day game against the Dallas Mavericks.

Look at who the official is. Bernie Fyrer [IMG]. Fryer hasnt been in the news this season so he just found an excuse to do something to a player. Sad.

Peja? Suspended? Peja doesn't seem like a kinda guy that would get suspended...he seems innocent.

Well, he was angry...if this was Wallace I bet it would be all over the news.

This is a bunch of BS. I hope it wasn't another incident like TD went through. The Kings are playing on PrimeTime on Christmas day! People want to see him play...oh well.

Not really - a suspension's a suspension, no buts about it. I do think it's a bit harsh though.

I didn't see the game but I'm sure it wasn't a planned bump. Peja is not the type of player to do that, and neither was Tim Duncan.

It must have been just a bad play and accidental contact was made. It shouldn't warrant a suspension.

But if the bump was planned then Peja deserves his punishment. Treat others as you wan to be treated. The ref was just doing his job by certainley showing no favoritism.

It was called for, he clearly shoved the ref, now must pay for it.

(ref should have made the call though  )

That is true, however they could have found a way around it in order for him to play on Christmas day by saying they needed a few days to "investigate" whether it was intentional or not and still handed out the same punishment.

Must not have been as bad as NVE's incident.[IMG]

Well, I saw the replay on SportsCenter and the way it occured was he just went behind him and with his arm slightly pushed him. Something that you might do to a friend to tell him that you're behind him. It was on purpose but I don't believe that it should have been a suspension on Christmas.

Also saw it on SportsCenter and found it highly unacceptable. I related it to the Duncan shove earlier in the season. There was no reason. Peja better clean up his act.

He was trying to close out to the shooter and that stupid ref was in the way.
