We have no one who can penetrate on a consistent basis outside Roy and Bayless (who never plays) and its such a crucial part of ball movement. This team needs someone else that can penetrate.
No kidding. I think the Blazers had something like 50 points in the paint to Houston's 33, according to a graphic on ESPN during Roy's press conf. We need to get our asses in there if over half our points in this stinker came from high percentage shots. Make the interior our meat and potatoes, and let the 3-shooting be the gravy, not the other way around.
Penetrating isn't just about scoring in the paint. Its about opening up opportunities by drawing defenders. Put the defense on its heels and you'll find cutters and be able to open it up for our shooters more. Way too predictable when we clear it out for Brandon every time.
