The scumbag Pens will be looking for revenge. The key is to hit Malkin hard, early and often. He's a dumb fuck, Russian. He loses his cool all the time. Hit him, get him angry and will take stupid penalties constantly.
Strome out, Copp at C, Hunt RW with Panarin and Copp. Reaves back in. Tough game I'd think with Pens looking for revenge. If we win I think we are in a great spot to get home ice in round 1 over them. I also think we just about lock in a round 1 playoff match-up with them - although I think that is almost a lock already win or lose. I am also not too concerned with home ice and think we beat the Pens in the playoffs either way, so to me go out and play and if we can win this game it makes a big statement IMO.
Yep. Thank God for JD and trading up for Schneider. Gorton would have drafted some Euro pussy. Drury knows what winning players look like his deadline moves are working like a charm.
Let's see what they do in the playoffs with all these moves. I am curious how they will look with Kakko back.
That was a very entertaining final 2:30....Copp WAY too unselfish...just put the puck in the net and get the two points.
Rangers are better than the Pens. Barring things falling apart, this will be the 1st round matchup, and I think we'll win in 5 or most likely 6 games. Will be a fun series. The way I see it, Drury did a great job improving this team at the trade DL. The only thing I wish he would have done is gotten a LD instead of a RD in Braun so Nemeth could be scratched. That is the only miss I think. Otherwise he killed it at the DL. You add Kakko back, and this team which is already very deep now, becomes maybe the deepest team in the NHL. Add in a great goalie, a handful of stars, and the grit and we will be a tough out. The Canes will not be easy in round 2, but I think we can at least hold our own and have a shot. Exciting stuff.
The more I watch Copp,Vatrano and Motte the more I think there is ZERO chance they bring back Strome. Those guys add more to the team by a huge amount than Strome. I'm thinking Strome, Georgiev, Rooney, McKegg and Braun are all out of here. They will have just under 15 million in cap space. Copp will get about 5 million. Vatrano 3.5. I see him wanting to stay here. Kakko will probably get about 2 million. He hasn't done much yet. Blais maybe 2 million. Motte maybe 2 million. Reeves maybe 1.5. Watch what Wilson did vs. the Canes. You still need Reeves to keep that dumbass in line. That will put us over a little. However, that is just taking into account UFA's. Not that a RFA like Georgiev will be traded which he will. I think they will keep Nemeth for one more year. Robertson isn't ready. They should be able to bring back everybody but Strome.
Maybe Drury pulls a huge offseason trade for someone like Schiefele. Winnipeg's kind of in no-man's land in that conference.
