Good grief people are becoming so overly sensitive about EVERYTHING. This reminds me of the story about the judge in Oregon who had a historical picture of Adolf Hitler among other WWII memorabilia on the wall in the courthouse. People flipped.

Are we so sensitive now that we can't even see these images without losing our shit? They're not promoting the ideals. It's an ad campaign for an alternate reality TV show. I really hate what this country is becoming.

I'm sorry but I'm not okay with this at all, and apparently they knew it wasn't okay too otherwise they wouldn't have changed the Swastika.

If you are a fan of posting Nazi imagery in public view then may I suggest putting some Nazi symbols on your car. When people get pissed at you just go ahead and tell them they are being overly sensitive. To hell with them if their mother/brother/sister/father/wife/husband died in a concentration camp, right?

Society may be getting overly sensitive, but it's also becoming overly stupid. The fact that someone thought this was a good idea is testament to that fact.

How is that the same thing? It's an ad for a TV show about Nazis....

It's not like some random person put a swastika on their car and now they're upset because it caused an adverse reaction. It's a show where the central theme is based on Germany winning the war and successfully invading the US. How else are they supposed to convey that image without using WWII era German imagery?

You're right it's not like you putting a Swastika on your car, its like the city put a Swastika on your car regardless of if you wanted them to or not.

I also think its hilarious that they wouldn't allow an advertisement for Womens underwear, but this is okay.

Just another example of how this country is fucked up in the sense that Violence is good, but our bodies are BAD BAD BAD!

So you're saying the show shouldn't advertise at all? No television? No internet? No posters? The mere thought of the existence of the Nazi Reich is so upsetting that we must white wash it away from existence. We can't allow people to be bothered by the sight of German imagery from that era because it might upset them.

Are you part of that generation that wants the government to regulate speech?

I'm not even going to sit and get into an "Indiana is gonna trade Paul George" style argument over this with you.

I like to make my voice heard on subjects such as this. But I refuse to get into pissing matches that many opt to participate in on these OT threads.

But to answer your question - There are plenty of other ways to advertise the show that don't involve using Nazi symbols.

Gotcha. You're the type of person that wants to white wash history. Cool.

We aren't talking about a bunch of Neo Nazis waving a flag. We're talking about a period piece program that is attempting to show what America would look like if Germany had won the war. It is meant to be thought provoking and emotionally charged. If you are so sensitive that you can't even see these images without becoming upset, then you are part of the problem. They aren't promoting the ideology or glorifying the imagery, they are attempting to give a glimpse into an alternate reality.

    ZOMG! Not the American flag!1!!!!1!!!11

They didn't use a swastika. They used the Eagle and the Iron Cross. Germany STILL uses the Iron Cross to this day, so that's not exactly a "Nazi Symbol."

I was watching a piece on Hitler and the Nazis on The History Channel recently.

My wife walked in and made me turn it off because it was offensive.

Does the word context mean anything to you?

Also what's wrong with you? You are being antagonistic just because you can be.

This is literally a thread created to debate this topic.... and you're getting upset and emotional about debating the topic. If you don't want to discuss whether the imagery should be used, then feel free to not participate.

And you were the one who decided to bring up the Paul George thing for no reason. :dunno:

You are posting images which have nothing to do with the Nazis in an attempt to make a mockery of my opinion, and looking like an utter jackass in the process. The Paul George mention was because that situation went just like this one did. You seem to have trouble accepting when someone does not share your opinion. Let me help you out, you can't change the minds of others, you can only control your own opinions. If my beliefs are what is so wrong with society then take solace in the fact that my way of thinking is my responsibility and mine alone.

You are free to think the way you want to, and I am well within my right to hold a different opinion.

You said they put Nazi images on the American flag and I was posting images to show that you were wrong. The Iron Cross is not a Nazi image. They still use it today.

The Paul George argument, as you call it, was another example of you getting upset because I disagree with you and rather then continue to argue the point, you complain about me. If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

So what's the point of posting on the forum if you have your opinion, I have my opinion, and nobody is going to change anyone's mind? The issue isn't whether those images affect you. They're SUPPOSED to affect you. The issue is whether they should be allowed to use those images to promote a show about that subject.

This isn't about holding a different opinion.... you're free to think what you want, but Amazon had to take these images down because they were being publicly ridiculed. At that point it's no longer about opinion, and it's about how political correctness is affecting our society. That's not an issue that can be left alone.
