Manly is resigned to losing international prop Josh Perry to English club St Helens, but remain hopeful of retaining Kiwi Test centre Steve Matai.

Perry is yet to confirm his move to the UK Super League but will be forced out of Brookvale due to salary cap restraints.

The Sea Eagles will formally announce his departure after the State of Origin series, with the 29-year-old keen to concentrate on helping NSW regain the interstate crown after four lean years.

Quizzed about his future on Wednesday, Perry said: "I think we'll get something sorted out after Origin."

"I just want to play my best footy and not worry about all that other stuff and hopefully get across the line for NSW."

"We will wait until after Origin and see what happens."
