Kind of interesting how organizational guy Myers gets the assistant coach opening, while Vinnie glows about the coaching qualities of Hunter, who’s going to end up taking a roster spot but can’t play anymore, and Nelson, who might actually be worth a roster spot, is sent packing.

It’s almost like the Organization said “You will have Pete Myers on your bench” and Vinnie said, “How about Lindsey Hunter”. Agreement was reached that Myers would be allowed to sit there and collect a paycheck, and Hunter would collect one via the last roster spot.

I think if Hunter would have been made a coach, he would have lost his voice with the team. It's hard for someone to listen to a guy who was the 12th man off the bench the previous season.

Isn't that gonna be true with him being the 12th man off the bench this season?

Pat Riley (Lakers) and Phil Jackson (Knicks) were end of the bench type players.

Riley played 15MPG for his career.

Jackson played 18 MPG for his career.

Hunter played 25 MPG for his.

(Rick Adelman 22 MPG for his career)
