Coach of the Week Miami's Dave Wannstedt. I have a feeling this will be the last time I will ever give this award to Wannstedt --well, ever is a strong word. But you've got to hand it to the coach of a team that is dead for having his guys so well-prepared to play a good Rams team. Talked to Wannstedt the other day, and he was incredulous the Dolphins might have to take Ricky Williams back if the NFL rules he should be reinstated after his "retirement.'' "Can you believe this?'' he said. I told him: "You've got to write a book.'' He said: "I might.'' Can you imagine Dave's Book? See Ricky Run Away. See Ricky call from the outback. Well y'all get the idea
Oh that's unbelievable. DW doesn't need any good press right now. Although I have a hard time believing that his job isn't already lost. I doubt one Coach of the Week honors can save him.

Whats funny is last week, the S Fla papers were saying how that NFL coaching changes are never made in mid-season. It talk about how much Wayne likes Dave but there was nothing about his doing a good job or getting that dreaded vote of confidence. If Miami runs the table all the way thru February then Wanny stays but that won't happen. Miami still plays Buffalo once more as well as SF, Cleveland, & Arizona. If lucky, they win 6 tops.
Ball could bounce his way, feidler could get hot . . as hot as he can get . . . and before you know it 10-6 misses the playoffs, but since he lost ricky and boston, and cuz of his strong finish contract extension.
I did read today that Wanny was given the dreaded vote of confidence.....now its just a matter of time
