"That's something I talked to Mo a little bit about (yesterday), getting himself both mentally and physically ready to play down this playoff stretch run," Mitchell said after the team's shootaround hours before last night's game with the Bucks. "We've got 19 games to go and you need your experienced players but you need them at their best."</div>

So I guess Peterson's role will be much bigger in the playoffs, nice to hear that he isn't out of the rotation and the team's plans for the future.

...Or I could have read it wrong and it really means Peterson wants to walk out on the Raptors

I heard on sportscentre that Mo told some Toronto Sun reporter that he dosen't think he will re-sign with the Raps in the off season.

I wouldn't blame him, he's getting a pretty raw deal in terms of being thrown all over the rotation. Clearly there were situations where Peterson could have been in the game but we gave his minutes to someone else.

Of course if that reporter was Steve Buffery or Marty Dork, then I would have to question whether this is even true.

Yea, I don't blame him either. For some reason he has a very short leash when he's subbed in. I mean his defensive impact is so noticeable, but if he misses a couple 3's, Mitchell immediately pulls him out for Joey Graham/Juan Dixon/Jorge Garbajosa, etc. I just don't understand why Peterson needs to score to earn minutes, when our roster has so many capable scorers. He's been inconsistent, because his role on this team has been so ambiguous. And recently I think Sam's been trying to justify how he's taken Mo-Pete for granted (saying that he puts Dixon in for his defensive ability?).

That said, Peterson's frustration over his lack of playing time and dwindling stats may well lead him to go elsewhere when he becomes a free agent at the end of the season.

There have been rumors that coach Sam Mitchell and Peterson are not getting along, something both have denied, but there is no denying that Mitchell has lost faith in Peterson as an impact player.</div>

Kind of stating the obvious, but I figured I'd post it up.

Him being rested for the playoffs doesn't make much sense to me, wouldn't it be good to get him playing with the team while they're doing well so the guys can build the on court chemistry together. But really Mo's chemistry is just waiting in the corner to jack up a three anyways, so it's fine.
