Faced with the prospect of losing their longtime catcher, Carlos Ruiz, to the Boston Red Sox, the Philadelphia Phillies agreed Monday to re-sign Ruiz to a three-year, $26 million contract, sources confirmed to ESPN.com. The deal will pay Ruiz a salary of $8.5 million in each of the next three seasons, according to a source familiar with the contract.
