Without as much as a run-scoring hit, the Philadelphia Phillies put up enough offense to send the Miami Marlins to a milestone loss. Darin Ruf and Kevin Frandsen drove in runs in the first inning, and the Phillies beat Miami 2-1 on Tuesday night to hand the Marlins their 100th loss of the season. Ruf drew a bases-loaded walk, Frandsen followed with an RBI groundout and that was all the offense that the Phillies would need.
