http://www.nypost.com/sports/giants/27075.htm<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>August 17, 2005 -- ALBANY - From afar, the Giants can chuckle or grimace or gaze in wonderment at the latest development in the Terrell Owens saga, thankful that he's the Eagles' problem and hopeful that the best team in the NFC is distracted and ultimately weakened by all the controversy. Although they're sequestered here at training camp, the Giants have followed the strange comedy-drama playing out with the Eagles. They are aware how Owens the Outrageous has held out, ripped franchise quarterback Donovan McNabb, made wild accusations toward the front office, demanded to upgrade a contract he signed one year ago, been insubordinate to his offensive coordinator, tried to force a trade and did his best to humiliate the entire organization with a bizarre press conference on his front lawn. No one around the Giants minds seeing such poisonous behavior coursing through the veins of their chief rival in the NFC East, and some of them have surprisingly candid opinions on the subject. "I'd just like to see him shut up," center Shaun O'Hara said. Count O'Hara as one who isn't amused by Owens' antics or the fact that he's seemingly hijacked ESPN's programming schedule. "If that's the way he wants to be, fine, let him be that way and just stop giving him press, stop letting him be the topic of ESPN every single day," O'Hara said. "We're all sick and tired of seeing and hearing about it." Banished for one week by coach Andy Reid, Owens today is supposedly set to return to the Eagles, ensuring that the circus will definitely be making a stop at their training camp. Can this do permanent damage to last year's NFC Super Bowl entry? The Giants would like to think so. "Any kind of conflict or distress in Philadelphia can't be good for them, and it can't hurt us," added Tiki Barber. Safety Shaun Williams has had run-ins on the field with Owens and clearly doesn't appreciate his modus operandi. "It's just a show; that's how he is," Williams said. "He's always going to do something to keep his name in the paper and his face on TV." Players grumbling about their contracts is nothing new, but Owens has turned the situation into something unsavory. "It's kind of like kids going back and forth at each other: you said this or you said that," linebacker Nick Greisen said. "He should go to Hollywood." There's a strong sentiment that nothing resembling the Owens affair would ever happen inside the Giants' operation. "It wouldn't happen here," Barber stated. "This organization doesn't stand for stuff like that. We saw it last year, when conflicts started to arise they quickly got squashed. It's just not the way the Giants operate." Linebacker Carlos Emmons, a former Eagle, laughs about the zaniness. "It's funny to us, it's comical, it's like a reality show," he said. "It's always funny when it's not you." Taking on management is one thing, but that Owens criticized McNabb took the rancor to another level. "There's one rule: You don't ever talk about teammates in a bad way," O'Hara said. "Everybody knows that, but that's his track record. He did it in San Francisco and he's doing it now." The rift between Owens and McNabb might never close. "Michael [Strahan]and I had an issue years ago and over time we realized we like each other, it's not something that lingered," Barber said. "With them, if they don't like each other it will linger." To be sure, it is a topic of conversation around the Giants. "When he's on ESPN doing sit-ups and curls in his driveway, yeah, you say 'What the heck is wrong with him?' " Barber said. "It's just his personality, just the way he chooses to deal with his adversity. I wouldn't do it, but I'm not him."</div>

This is funny. I understand how TO is hogging up all the programming on ESPN and all local channels and I'm sick of it as well. But then to say that this would never happen in NY? Come on know, if TO was in NY and had the same contract dispute, you would be in the same situation. I just love how this article is making the Giants francise look like lil innocent angels that never have any problems. lolYou do have problems, lots of them. Getting past the Birds in the last few years. With or without TO. And the same thing will probably happen again this year.

They aren't saying if they would have problems WITH him there, they are saying if something like that happened inside their team, they wouldn't put up with it. They dont have anyone like that, so that's why they say "That would never happen in our team".
