Well, the league released the schedules today. Here is Miami's for the upcoming season; 9/12/04 Titans 9/19/04 at Cincy 9/26/04 Steelers 10/3/04 Jets 10/10/04 at Patriots 10/17/04 at Bills 10/24/04 Rams 11/1/04 at Jets 11/7/04 Arizona 11/21/04 at Seattle 11/28/04 at 49ers 12/5/04 Bills 12/12/04 at Denver 12/20/04 Patriots 12/26/04 Cleveland 1/2/05 at Ravens I wonder if my rants about the template the league used to make schedules has been done away with. This is the first year in many where they don't end up w/ 2 Divisional road games in December. Other than the going out to the west coast two consecutive weeks in Nov, the schedule appears to be okay. Initially & w/o 2 much analyzing, I see no reason why Miami can't win 10.
This is the 1st time in years that I didnt think the Dolphins got screwed on thier schedule....finishing all thier division road games by Nov. 1 is a huge bonus....Im a little upset about the 4 week stretch in which they have to fly 6000 miles twice, and 5000 once to play games in Seattle, then San Fran, then home, then a december game in Denver, which we all know is a snow game waiting to happen....they also got a tough draw in december, with 3 playoff teams from last year, 2 of them on the road....in review, its not an easy schedule, but there are no stretches that put them at too much of a disadvantage, other than the mega road trip month....
I'm just afraid that this schedule will be wasted as the "Teflon" Dave era continues. I just can't get very excited about this year. Perhaps that's why I haven't been posting very much. The Dolphins are so close, but I have the utmost confidence that Wannstedt and his blind loyalty to Jay Feeble will screw things up.
Most, if not all, of me agrees w/ Dale that the decent job Spielman has done so far will probably all be "messed" up by the Teflon one come about October. Though, it may be the 2nd day of camp in July when he names Jay starter that the season will be offically over.
