The Phoenix Suns today re-assigned rookie guard Diante Garrett to the Bakersfield Jam, Phoenix's NBA Development League affiliate. The assignment is the record 172nd of the 2012-13 NBA and NBA D-League seasons while Garrett is one of a record 56 NBA players to have been assigned to the NBA D-League this season.

Garrett (6-4, 190, Iowa State) has appeared in 18 games for the Suns this season, averaging 2.2 points, 1.6 assists and 7.5 minutes and returns to the Jam following an assignment to the team in January. During his first stint in Bakersfield, Garrett appeared in seven games, averaging 15.1 points, 7.4 assists and 31.6 minutes.

Garrett is expected to join the Jam today and be available tonight when the team closes out the NBA D-League regular season on the road against the Santa Cruz Warriors at 10 p.m. ET.

Bakersfield, who clinched the NBA D-League West Division and secured the League's best regular-season record with a win over the Warriors last night, will participate in the upcoming 2013 NBA D-League playoffs.

Phoenix fans can follow Garrett during his time with the Jam on NBADLeague.com powered by YouTube to watch all of the team's games live, online, for free.
