<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">"Emotions got involved. I really didn't handle it the right way. So, I'm just going to come out and apologize to my teammates, the coaching staff, the fans of Boston for what happened last night.... It was uncalled for," Pierce said. "I reacted at the moment. That's all it was. We handled it like men. I apologized to the team this morning and we move on." Pierce said that he and Rivers had not talked things out, but the conversation doesn't need to be a long one. "He's the coach," Pierce said. "Whatever he says goes, and that's it."</div> Well, he's saying all the right things, but I think the real test comes tommorrow night against the Raptors - if he's running the whole time we know it sank in. You can read the whole thing here.
This appeared to be a "heat of the moment" issue all along, but who knows. I'm a Raiders fan and remembered Gannon and Gru going at it, face to face, many times during the Superbowl loss season a few years ago. The next day, they always said "it was 2 guys who just wanted to win disagreeing". Let's hope PP's actions reflect his words now.
Of course Pierce would apologize, he always says the "right things". I think we will see tonight whether he means it. Actions speak louder than words, and they always will.
