<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post"> Boston Celtics forward Paul Pierce has been fined $7,500 for throwing and kicking the basketball into the stands, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations. The first incident occurred with 6:29 remaining in the third period when he threw the basketball into the stands and subsequently received a technical foul. The second occurred when he kicked the basketball into the stands at the conclusion of the Celtics? 101-93 win over the Orlando Magic at the FleetCenter on November 7.</div>
I can understand how Pierce could be frustrated and throw the ball into the stands, but I don't see any reason why he would kick the ball into the stands after the game, expecially since his team won the game. I didn't see the game so I can't know the circumstances behind it but this amuses me greatly.
I guess he said he needed to kick the ball at the end because it didn't go far enough when he threw it. That isn't his style, I was surprised when I read it because I haven't known Pierce to have a bad temper.
